Tidewake is an alarm app for Zepp OS watches, made by SofTime – Piotr Krakowski, Poland. The short version: your sleep and heart-rate data stay on your watch. We never receive them. The app has no ads, no analytics and no user account.
What stays on your watch
To find light sleep before your alarm, Tidewake reads the watch's sleep data (sleep stages and whether you are asleep) and your heart rate. On the watch it keeps:
- your alarms and settings,
- a night log with those readings, kept for about 48 hours (older log files are removed when the next night starts),
- the history of your last 30 nights: when you fell asleep and woke up, sleep stages, total sleep and how many minutes before the alarm you were woken,
- the date you first opened the app, for the 14-day trial, and your license status.
None of this leaves the watch. Uninstalling Tidewake removes it.
A diagnostic screen can show the night log and print it to the watch's developer console, which only Zepp's developer tools can read. Tidewake does not send it anywhere.
License key (Pro)
Pro is unlocked with a license key, which you paste on Tidewake's settings page in the Zepp app on your phone. Tidewake's companion service in the Zepp app then sends to Polar (polar.sh), the company that sells Tidewake Pro for us:
- the license key,
- our organization ID at Polar,
- a label with the activation date, such as "Tidewake 2026-11-02", so you can tell your activations apart in Polar's customer portal.
At most once every 30 days, when you open Tidewake with the phone nearby, and whenever you tap "Check again" on the watch, the service sends the key and the activation ID to Polar to check that the key is still valid. Like any server, Polar also sees your phone's IP address.
The key and its status stay in Tidewake's settings in the Zepp app. The watch only gets the status, never the key. Storage in the Zepp app is provided by Zepp Health and covered by its own privacy policy.
Buying Pro
Polar Software Inc. sells Tidewake Pro as the merchant of record: it takes the payment, issues the receipt, handles VAT and refunds. Its privacy policy: https://polar.sh/legal/privacy-policy.
From Polar we see what a seller needs: your e-mail address, the order, any details you enter at checkout and your license key with its activations.
What we do with it
SofTime – Piotr Krakowski is the controller of the data we get from Polar and of the e-mails you send us. We use them only to provide your license and to answer your questions, because that is what you bought (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). We don't sell or share them and don't use them for marketing. We keep them while your license is in use and as long as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, for a correction or deletion, for limiting its use or moving it elsewhere, and you can object to how we use it. Write to kontakt@softime.pl. You can also complain to a data protection authority; in Poland that is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).
Changes
If Tidewake starts handling data differently, this page and its date change first.
